Redang U/W photos

First time shooting underwater. Used a A610 with its Canon u/w casing, with on board flash.

Only could snorkel, so all are shallow shots, some had to dive in, hold breath and shoot, while some had my young son to stand on my back to keep me down

Appreciate any comments. Not sure if colours are off or not, and any ID is appreicated.

Did you use a special "Underwater" program? It is under SCN on mode dial. I've read that it sets the WB appropriate for underwater shots and minimizes the use of flash.

Any comments on Canon's underwater housing? Did you use flash with a diffusion plate that came with the housing? I am going to try the housing next week in Bali.

No, I use mainly Daylight or Cloudy, as advised by the Canon U/W website.

But still have to PS it usign Auto colour correction.

Yes, shot all with flash diffuser.

I particularly like shot #2 - texture wave ripples in the background and the contrasting colour of the granite boulders give it a very surreal quality. Quite artistic!
