hi,

i need some recommendation of B&W enlarger dat can handle up to 6x7.
anyone got any value for $$ brand to recommend ??
would be doing print size up to 16x20 or larger..any good enlarger lens which can handle 35mm and 6x7 to those sizes ??
and which type of B&W paper is good ??

thanks !!

Have a peek at Omega, like the C760. This has a large base, can be turned for wall or floor exposures (real big ones are possible, but will do a 16x20 on the base board.) I have this model: it will accept three heads (color, B&W with integrated contrast filter, and a condenser), will accept up to 6x7 with the right carriers, and I got the whole thing practically brand new for $400 CDN. I say practically brand new because I know it was used, but I can't tell by looking at it. I use a 75mm Nikkor for the medium negs and a 50mm Schneider for the 135's.

Enlargers will be easier to find now, since digital is getting a major foothold in the world of photography. So... this is my opinion from my experience only, but there are a lot of suitable enlargers out there.

To answer your question directly about the lenses...don't skimp here. Nikkor is an excellent brand, without breaking the piggy bank - my Schneider was a deal from a friend and it still cost $200. But holy cow, the images are sheer perfection. Not the subjects...I'm still working on that part.

hmm,ok thanks.

will keep a lookout for the C760..dunno where to find used enlarger in s'pore though..

anyone selling ??
