Recommendations for DSLR beginner

Went down to TK Foto shop just now. It felt awesome to hold and handle. Opted for the blue one and one of the staff went to the back to bring out a box. Noticed it wasn't the WR type. The K30 review led me to think that the K30 is WR including the lenses. So when I asked about it, I was told the body and the kit lens IS NOT WR!!!!

Alan Photo don't carry the Pentax brand. SLR don't stock K30 anymore. Does anyone know where else sell the K30 WR variant?

From what I have read, a dollar for a dollar, K30, in my opinion, is the best photo taking camera from what I have read in the forum (SnapSort) and (some) magazines. One of the strong point for K30 is the image quality. SnapSort has a quantifiable mean to rank it.
Until now, K30 still rank top 10 compared to other models regardless of price.

For your reference the K30 image quality is better than Nikon D7000, but lose to D7100.

My opinion was not based on what I have read only.
I have seen images here taken by PinholeCam and another gentleman (he modestly claimed has touched up). They were breathtaking compared to other cameras which were more ex.

The weather and water resistance feature also attracted my attention.

I could have purchased K30 3 months back if not confused by the unathorised and authorised distributors issue.
I decided then continue to invest on some filters on my current SX50HS to brush my skill before upgrade to DSLR.

I have today, just bought a K30 with a free bag n 8GB thrown in, thanks to this nice elderly man who served me. Indeed it looks like I have much to learn from all the Pentax users. The K30 is an investment of sort and I really want to take advantage of this DSLR features and be a good photographer. Hope you all can guide me along and let me know if you are planning a group photography or just twosome/threesome.

Go to The Camera Workshop. They stock the DiviPower brand which is as good as the original. The other place is SLRR who sell the Revo brand battery or else go to Orient Photo @ SLS and buy the Ittou brand battery.

Try Alan Photo as a last resort. I was there just now and there are no more K30s for sale. Only K50 now.

Sorry to drag up an old thread. Maybe too long did not use, found out the hard way today that all my 3rd party batteries are not holding the charge well anymore. Thus wanted to find out what has the latest experience been with the Divipower battery recently? I recalled Fengwei did a review on this batt some years back. Additionally, if there is any other locations selling this? Thanks
