Recommendations for a portable strobe

Heard from some of my friends that the 360 is very prone to blowing... but personally haven't tried it, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Good to know, thank you..... Ive googled but can't find anything.

HOWEVER.... I'd guess ( emphasis on guess ) that it may be like any Halogen work light that builders use... or other constant lighting studio lights = rule being if the bulb filament is hot you don't move the light or it may blow. i.e. give it 3-5mins to cool down.

Anyone else used or know anyone using - they look appealing really.

I would think it must be the cooling mechanisms, or the lack of, especially when you pack so much power into a small package. BTW, when I heard blowing, it was not the flash tube, but the internals getting fried.

If you do get it, just remember to take it easy on the shutter release and not shoot like you are on a victoria secrets set.

Hi, just wanted to know if you have tried it? i am also looking for portable strobe lighting.

I am using the Godox AD180.Fast recycle time and the battery pack can be use on Nikon flash too.But its the High speed sync that draw me to this flash.Right now i dont think there's many portable flash that offer high speed sync.So far i am very happy with the performance except my first battery is not holding charge and the dealer do an exchange for me.Here the pict :

Got it... the AD360 is the way to go - The AD360 is really Amazing.... great output! and just use my SB-900 as a slave (2nd light) ( getting an umbrella shortly )

( High speed sync on Nikon requires some more equipment however.... so allow another $100-130 to get the Stratos 2 Set from Phottix )

Sorry ... ya silly me..... I mean will be getting a soft box.... prob 27".

If you have the space and the budget,a parabolic umbrella is also a good idea.I find the parabolic umbrella can give me a much more softer light compare to the softbox. You will get a very unique catchlight on the eyes too..
