Recommendations for a good strap?

Hi everyone, been thinking of getting a neck strap for the leica, but i'm not aware of many good choices (most are for dslrs i guess?). Looking for a strap that is discreet (as in not too huge or loud or colourful) and comfortable and secure at the same time. Doesn't need to be leather tho, any other material is fine.

So far I've been having my eye on the gordy neck strap w/ neck pad that mr philip tay sells, it looks pretty good (:

Any recommendations, guys?

Thanks!

cannot go wrong with artisan & artist :)

A&A is best.

But brand is not important. Important thing is whether you like neck length or shoulder length. To me getting correct length is more impt.

Shoulder length got more stealth factor cos you can hide under your arms.

Neck length is easier to access, but got the "I am a tourist" look

Mine is directly at chest level, typical Japanese tourist look.

So that when I snap, get questioned for it, just reply gibberish in Japanese :bsmilie:;)

do you mean the voigtlander black strap that chiif is selling?

Yes, its made by A & A for cosina voigtlander. I have the A & A adjustable version, sama sama. In fact the fixed length voigtlander comes with a leather backing for the neck which i find more comfy when slugging heavy cameras.

Another vote for A&A. I opted for a longer version though, as its more comfortable and secure over the shoulder, and also probably because I don't like the "tourist" look ;p

Wide straps are good for even weight distributions.

Get something comfy & doesnt itch when your neck starts pespiring ;)

If money is no issue, i will get this http://www.artisanandartist.com/straps/acam106.htm

it is silk strap, come in neck length and shoulder length, and many different color. The advantage is that the silk is so soft you can roll it up and it transforms from a neck/shoulder strap to become a WRIST strap!!!! You can buy from "the legendary old man". but its quite ex coz material is ex

i also agree the voightlander strap sold by chiif is cheap and good. I bought one from chiif also and use that for a long time. But that A&A strap only got neck version, and I wanted to go shoulder. abit of neckache after awhile (leica sibeh dang)

There are many fancy and expensive sling for your Leica..."Leica people" cares a lot of the "look" more than others camera...:bsmilie:

For comfort, very soft and flexible too, use a flat cotton A&A or Voigtlander sling...not too expensive around $70... I think...

Get the A&A silk sling, very soft, will not feel "hot" on your neck, but much more expensive...triple the price of the former...

If you like leather smell like some ... go for Luxecase, Leicatime (Luigi) or A&A....A&A leather sling is a bit stiff...Luigi leather sling is the softest...but not cheap...Last....U can get it very cheaply hand made in Singapore at Beach Road...tan131 knows the store...;)

I do carry some beige and brown leather strap imported from korea. you can visit me at mass sales column or alternatively to www.thecamerawise.com. ;)

if you like to to cross sling then u can consider Y strap

i picked up an adjustable leather strap from ebay... works fine and comfy too. not to mention cheap.
