Recommendation for best device for converting DVC videos to digital format

Hi.

Apologies for the NOOB question.

I would appreciate any advise on what are the best products in the market today for conversion of Digital Video (DVC) tapes to digital format for the MAC.

Would be even better if someone in the forum offers the service (for a fee of course).

most cost effective way is to find yourself a miniDV camcorder with firewire output, then capture the tapes into the mac.

Using firewire, would it be more faster than the the usual "1 hr recording on a miniDV tape needs 1 hr of capturing".

Can quote us some pro camcorder models using the mentioned firewire output?

once you read 'TAPE' you're pretty much stuck to 1:1 for any forms of ingesting footage into the computer.
All pro miniDV, DV & DVCAM cameras from Sony / Panasonic supports IEEE1394 firewire output.
Typical models: Sony HVR-A1, Z1, Z5, Z7, S270 & Panasonic AG-DVX102, and more...
