I hope this is the right place to start this thread.
I have a bunch (about 8) of mini-DV tapes that I would like to get converted to MOV/AVI format. I prefer that to DVD as the MOV/AVI format is easy to store/transfer on my harddisk and will also allow me to use basic software like Windows Movie-Maker to do basic edits. Can anyone recommend a reliable/trusted shop (or person) who can do the conversion? I tried googling and found a few but I have no sense of whether they are reliable or not. I can't do it myself either because my original video camera is almost kaput and I can't playback properly and transfer to my PC.
