Ya, RF is the way to go. By the way, if you're going to Shanghai give me a PM when you're here. Expect plenty of closeup shots so you might want to go wider than 50mm. I know its very personal, and for me I shoot mostly 35mm here in the streets of Shanghai. People generally don't like to be shot (photo that is) so 35mm with enough depth of field during the day time allows me to shoot without looking thru the viewfinder, off the hip. That also requires your camera to be rather silent, but that one you can mask with a cough.
I dont want to go and recommend Leicas to you yet, but make sure your RF takes Leica M mounts (most modern Bessa do). You will know in a couple of years time.
Film is also plentiful here. Especially Ilfords. Kodaks are a little more difficult to find. Fuji Neopan 100 is easy to find too, and maybe if you're lucky Neopan 400s. If you're processing yourself, you should play a little with the cheap Shanghai or Lucky film (7.5RMB/roll the last time I bought) as they're easy on the wallet.
China is a great place to shoot street B&W. I've been shooting I dont know how many rolls already, and still I bring my RF out with me every weekend.
