I was pleasantly surprised by Dell's service. 1st time dealing directly with them, usually I buy through IT Show one of those exhibition deals.

The ATi Radeon HD 4350 seems like an entry to low mid level video card as per some specs online. Not great for gaming, but ok at decoding blue ray...

agree. have them change the gfx card to nvidia.

Trade the gfx card with 1024MB NVIDIA (R) GeForce (R) GT220 add S$150. Dell quite flexible, the more I look at the XPS Desktop the more I like it. Thanks guys.

Appreciate all the responses.

Specs looks good. You will definetly like it.

I think if you want desktop PC, for me i would prefer to build one myself. Can customise. However if u want hassle free and go for warranties, i think just get one from Harvey Norman or some other big stores. But do note that the specs are lower than the ones you build yourself and the price are at a premium because of the warranty.

I can give you recommendations if u need my help!
I like the macbook pro 13 inch one.. looks really nice!

Cheers!

Wow nice stuff. Dell's service is really top notch. i wouldn't recommend getting the "so called" better gfx card and paying $150 for it. Get an ATI card, they're architecture is superior currently to nvidia:bsmilie: and buy it seperately(sim lim). you can get a much better one for around the same price as if you upgrade to a GTX220. lol...

Is the 500 GB hard drive 5400 or 7200 rpm?

I don't play games on pc and really prefer to have from same vendor to keep the warranty intact.

It’s 7200 rpm 16M cache.

Hits a slight snag, the 1024MB NVIDIA (R) GeForce (R) GT220, was told cannot support HDMI, so Dell now recommends 1024MB ATI(R) Radeon(TM) HD 4870 add S$254.66

its good to buy an extended warranty maybe 3year on parts. notebook can fail after 24 months . repair is costly.

This is realy confusing, one Dell agent tells me can another tells me cannot... search the website and 1024MB NVIDIA (R) GeForce (R) GT220 shows a HDMI port. Now, I have feeling that the last agent was trying to under-cut the 1st agent to get the sale. Really cut-throat this pc business.

Gigabyte EX58-UD3R X58 + Intel i7 920 ~ $786
Hitachi 500GB/16MB sata2 HDD ~ $78
Team Elite PC3-1333MHz CL9 3x2GB ~ $175
Leadtek GTX260 Extreme+ 896MB ~ $299
Samsung S223 22x DvD+-RW (SATA) ~ $32
CM CM690 Side Window Casing ~$139
OCZ Modxstream-Pro 600 Watts PSU ~ $148
MS Windows VISTA Home Prem 64bit ~ $208

No speakers included and its $5 more expensive but has a better graphic card and rams. Of cos you dun get the warranty from dell but if u are game to try to DIY its cheaper in some sense :)
