Recommend Camera Bag

I am looking for a sling bag that can put a4 size book, d700 with grip and 24-70mm lens, some belonging and water bottles. Any recommendation? So far, I am looking at Crumpler MDh8

Your shoulder is going to suffer. Why not a backpack?

Cathay has more choice for Lowepro and all the more expensive bags i.e. Domke, Manfrotto etc... as they're the sole distributor for quite a few brands.

TK Foto has better prices i feel... even for Nat Geo. i bought my Harddrive from TK...

Yes it is. Just look at the Nat Geo bags, which both shops offer. Cathay has the variety selection, good atmosphere, and ample sales staff but at slightly higher prices. TK prices are slightly better. That said, they are not far apart. And if you ask for e-quote over email, Cathay usually gives quite competitive pricing.

I like Cathay a lot. I just do not buy too many things there. But once in a while I go there to get something. I like to browse there also. And when a sales staff asks if he/she can help me, if I am browsing, I will tell them I am just browsing and they will leave me alone until I have a question.

The issue is not backpack... it's that all the camera bag manufacturers think that people want backpacks that can be dropped from 2 storeys up and the gear has to survive after that....

I can never figure out why camera backpacks are so bloody thick when my Billingham is barely 12 cm across. A 12 cm, or even 15 cm backpack would probably not make anyone look like a turtle.

A decent attempt to go slim is the Shape Shifter. The pocket-style storage didn't appeal to me, though.

LOL. Actually, I feel that a lot of Singaporeans get very outdoors-y when they go overseas so it's forgivable. Remember the 1st Everest expedition in 1998 led by the great David Lim? And we don't even have mountains here. Inspiring.
