correct spelling should be hygrometer not hydrometer.
:)

Electronic or analogue is still the same, maybe electronic is more accurate, but I will not get an electronic dry cabinet just for it, since it is expensive.

get a analogue one and then get a digital hygrometer for $25-$30 if you want a digital readout. acts as a double confirmation that the reading on the cabinet is accurate.

Winston - where can I buy the digital hygrometer that you mentioned.
Thanks

:)

Digi-Cabi: Humidifier - locally made. Cabinet - imported. Newer model use digital hygrometer. You should get 5 yr warranty. Available at MS Color.

Bossmen: Taiwan made. This is a big company specialising in storage. They have very good QC for all their parts. Damproof. No sliding tray for some models, not a problem.
5 yr warranty. Bossmen website. Highly recommended. Available at MS Color. Model SDG72 sample

Am-Pro: The model at Carrefour doesn't come with magnetic strip on its door (like ur fridge) unlike Bossmen. External design is nice & with sliding tray.
1 yr warranty. There's a newer more expensive Am-Pro design at Digital point. Free delivery if u buy direct from Digital Point.

Although you say don't ask, but why 2 (unless its for someone) otherwise the money can probably get you a bigger capacity (bigger than 2x25L).

I ask because I currently have a 26L, need another one, so wondering to buy another 26L (so like u will have 2x26L) or sell the current one then buy 1 bigger than 26Lx2 (eg 70L).

Anyway anyone please help. what is the pro & con of
2 x 26L versus 1 x 70L (bigger)?

Thanks

I have a Toyo Living dry cabinet, and it has served me well for quite some time already.

I guess the advantage will be that if one of them spoilt you don't have to scramble to get it fix or replaced, and that if your house do not have space to fit 1 big one.

Big one will be more economical generally.

thanks, sorry for asking, the space thing I have thought about as well, and your point about the failure is good, probably just go and buy another 26L one, rather than sell and buy a bigger 70L one.
Thanks again.

2 e drybox = 2 power supply = 2 x $$$

possibly, (but should be quite cheap still since their consumption should be low, right?) but is it also true that bigger box => bigger or more powerful drying unit => more power as well, then diff from above is very slight? Anyone?

Is it also true that some of them will switch off and on, while others will remain on all the time.

Actually - it all depends on what you want....

Eg. the 82L Bossmen model I got for around $180 uses a 2W dryer. The $88 26L version uses the same dryer!!! The more expensive models for 83L version uses 4W/6W dryers.

What this means - the 26L version will dry much, much faster compared to the 82L model. It takes abt 5-6 hrs for my 82L cabinet to drop from 50% to 25% on medium setting.

But if it is value for money you are looking for, you are better off buying the 82L model since you effectively pay less per/L of capacity and spend less on electricity.

Hope this helps you in making your decision?? ;)
