Well ordinarily I'm not really a fan of superzooms but by chance I picked up a FA 28-200mm f/3.5~5.6 from a used computer shop just the day before the Pentax meet-up. This discontinued lens is really a re-badged Tamron. Quite stubby looking, the lens reminds me of a small mirror lens.
Got the chance to try it out at the meet-up. Performance is fine at the middle focal lengths and as to be expected, performance at the extreme ends of the focal length isn't so impressive. A little soft wide open but thankfully we had bright conditions on that day which allowed me to shoot at smaller apertures. As to close-up performance, nothing to rave about. The macro performance from my Pentax F 35-70mm is far better but considering I only paid $60 for it, I'm not going to complain. :bsmilie:
