Hi all, can somebody please tell me what are the rates for rechargebles by EastGear? Will need to get a couple of them.

Btw, i intend to use them for my sb80dx, can some kind soul enlighten how are the performance of the batteries on the speedlight? Thanks in advance

Here are the charges:

Sanyo 2300 AA - $16 for a pack of 4.
Sanyo 2100 AA - $12 for a pack of 4.

I suggest that you get the 2300s. From my experience using the SB80DX, I've managed to squeeze out around 300 odd shots with bounce card.

Quite a lot already.

pls advise where to get the sanyo 2300 and 2100 in such a good price.
i'm interested for the 2300. pls pm me or advise the shop or tel over here :D

Hmm....wat about the recycling time?

Will the Sanyo batteries able to use other brand charger to charge? Like GP charger? Or how much is the Sanyo quick charger? :)

I'm using GP charger to charge my 1600 battery but it takes me about 16 hours to get full. :dunno: i know GP or Sony has a quick charger it only takes 30min. :D

Well, recycling time is rather fast. If my brains don't remember wrongly, it's about 3-4 secs.

If you try to take 2 consecutive shots (with bounce flash), it'll not be able to recycle fast enough.

Get the SB800 if you want fast recycling times - it uses 5 batteries.

Firstly, you'll have to see if the battery charger is an "intelligent" one or not. If it is, you'll be able to charge batteries of any capacity.

If it's not (ie, it's timer based), you'll have to get a new charger. I suggest getting the Ripvan100 OEM charger from Eastgear. $30. If you buy the charger and batts, you'll get a slight discount.

Hi,

There are cheaper rechargeable batteries sold elsewhere. :D

I got them a week ago at only $10.90 for 4 pieces of 2100 mAh Ni-Mh for my Digital Camera.

OEM brand but 100% brand new in sealed condition. Dun get fooled that if u think they are non-SANYO/GP/SONY that their quality is inferior...in fact, they are working fine for me and price is cheaper than other brands without me coughing out 'blood' from my wallet! I bought 2 sets for my brother-in-law and no complaints too.

No offence but everyone knows that Sanyo & Maha batteries are the best AA batteries around. Tested amongst 20 over different brands of batteries, the Sanyo 2100mAh & Maha 2200mAh are the top 2 cells

Sanyo 2300mAh promises to be even better. Afterall Sanyo is the inventor & world largest manufacturer of NiMH rechargeable batteries. Sony, Energizer, Kodak, Olympus NiMH AA batteries are OEM from Sanyo.

I had try those "no brand" batteries before,

You would not know the diff initially, but after 5-6mths of usage I notice that the life of a fully charged batt gets shorter and shorter.

I had also experience having both Sanyo and "no brand" batt left untouch at home for almost 1 yr (I left singapore during that time). After a yr I took them out, charge them, and found out the "No brand" batt to be totally dead while the sanyo ones works and are chargable.

Its like buying 4D or Toto. sometimes you get a number of good "No brand" batt (w/in the same batch), but some times don't.....

I realize there're many different models of "quick" Sayno chargers. For one thing, there're "Quick Charger" and "Super Quick Charger". Then, the "super" one comes in two different batches, one made in Japan (with built-in power plug and built-in battery tester) and one made in China (with detachable power cord).

I got the "super" one made in China. 4 of 2100 takes 2 hours to charge; 4 of 2300 takes a bit longer than 2 hours.

Regarding Sayno batteries, I was told they're one of the best. As Eastgear mentioned, they're the OEM for Sony and the likes. You can check that all of their batteries got "HR" imprinted on the negative end.

Hi, wondering the price you quoted comes with the battery holder ?

Nope... They have no stock for the cases as well.

At $10.90 for 4 x 2100mA (OEM) and $12 for 4 x 2100mA (Sanyo)
You only save $1.10 for a set of 4.

Not worth risking them in a $500+ SB-80DX right?

I have some cheap 1600mA rechargeables at home too, bought by my relatives and pass to me, they worked fine too but after a while, their battery life shorten very fast and charge retaintion is bad.

So far, brands I have used are Sanyo, Energzier, GP, PowerCell, Sony.

Sanyo and Energzier are good, so is the SONY but it's too expensive (the 2100mA ones)
