I am so excited with this!
Plug in? I tot NFC already implemented for recent camera model?SSD is coming.... before end of this decade.( back up won't need laptop or powered device - it will back up into another compact device that will plug in to the side... think a thumb drive on steroids. )
The comments on the 2.5" Hard Disk thing.... its made that way cause of industry norms requiring laptop bays to slot this in. ( It can and will be shrunk in size.... e.g. the same as in your 128GB iPhones. )
D800 for sports? LOL.... how many frame per sec could D800 do? ha ha ah
4fps on fx, 6fps on dx + battery grip + D4/ 8x AA batteries.. I believe there's must not be a certain cam to shoot sports. Any cam can achieve as long you are able to catch that particular freezing moment.
There are some CSers shot sports with the D800.. it's lying around somewhere in the d800/e user thread with their sample images.

Do you know that the price of XQD is more expensive then Sandisk CF Extreme Pro ?
If there was a camera with 4x XQD slots, would you buy 4x XQD memory cards and put them all into the slot ?
D4 replacement may be spotted at the winter Olympics... look out![]()
Expect : The same 16MP sensor, more fps rate, better AF, better ISO.... and sighhh - better video cause we all need it. :/
May have a tweaked processor..... Yes it will topple the DF for noise and low light. ( ISO king returns. )
 There is only one King, it is King Df.
If D4 replacement is made better than Df in term of noise and low light, how ? :dunno:
No longer a rumor. Nikon announced that the Nikon D4s is in the making.

At the release of Df the writing is on the wall for D4s, especially if you consider what impact D700 had on D3 and how quickly D3s was needed. So 4 years for Df in the making was really not that but once the decision to use the D4 sensor is made the Df had to wait until D4s is ready for launch to minimize the leak from D4, i.e. those who do not need the high fps, AF speed but desire the sensor performance may be lured back to D4s. Those who have to go Df Nikon let them, not before they have a chance to considered D4s.
I am fully aware of this when I got my Df so it does not bother me. Half price of D4 or mini D4 is good enough for me.
D4s looks like a significant advancement from D4 basing on the statement given.

So I can conclude that there isn't a D4X in Nikon's next offering?
