Re: CNA Poll - 89% Not Interested in YOG

Well, thats on the part of the school. But its no small issue nonetheless.

There are already rumblings of "forced participations" (through various means) from other schools/organisations, its just that the level of support is not as rosy as what the organising committees wants the public to believe.

weird:think: i had a hard time pingponging to get my role actually. weird.:think:

anyways, we will see within this 2 weeks if its gonna take off or its gonna be a flop.
but i hope the incidents do bring more attention to the welfare of volunteers. its not easy for us to take time out to help. especially when once its over i'm smack in the face with promos.

Your role, as in volunteer photographer?

yea. took me 3 months actually.

Well, some roles, such as photographers, are more attractive as the others. Doesn't mean less savory ones doesn't exist or aren't forced on others in some capacity.

Wouldn't say too much here, enjoy your stint and keep a look out on the ongoings. ;)

yep no worries. not so gong let ppl chop haha:bsmilie:

i wonder why they (org) dont have confident in getting support & had to resort to "forceful encouragement" according to the report? there is alot of support for ndp, f1, summit (cant remember what it was) etc.

as for the food, i think most budget (which is already burst many times) went to i dont know where, so no more money for food for "volunteers". else, how it is that after spending so much tax payers' money, they cant even provide decent food, i m comparing it to $2 nasi lemak at chinatown complex and the hawker centre at 4 horse road?

i'm not interested in the YOG but i cannot stand for the fact that the volunteers are given such lousy meals esp. when so much $$ has been thrown into hosting and organising this event.
