Now that the price tag for Rayovac 1-hour is back to $79, the GP Powerbank Smart might make more sense? Features for both looks similar. The power supply unit for GP feels much lighter though :)

but i still can get it @ $49 though..... whY Gp? :D

GP's power supply is much lighter? I guess I didn't notice that Rayovac was $49, but is out of stock at W3Cube.

They will also have the Maha chargers and a "special" travel charger later this month.

BTW, the Maha 204F charger seems to make my AAA batteries just as hot as a 1-hour Rayovac.

Carrefour is now selling the Rayovac with 2 AAs for $59.

surprising! I bot the Rayovac at Carefour @ only 49 ... that was early june though. They selling it @ NUS Co-op now for the same price.

Don't expect the Mahas to be cheap though. It is still going to be priced above the average chargers here. :(

Using negative pulse charging instead of the traditional constant current charging, the new Maha C401FS is going to be priced around $100. Not cheap leh. :(

NUS Co-op sells the Rayovac charger???? where???

I got 5% discount somemore............:D :bsmilie:

but it is true that rayovac charger fries the batteries! I went back and exchanged 2 fried rayovac batteries.

what I found:
a) NOrmally the rayovac charger will charge their own batteries hotter than the others.
b) Normally the two pocket in the center will charge the batteries hotter than the rest of the 2 pocket.
c) And it is quite hot (My definition of hot is that something I cannot hold for 3 seconds) ~60 to 70 degree. C. sometimes. I wonder will this affect the batteries life..............

I guess sometimes, overheating do fry the batteries. If you want more control of your charging, perhaps you can try things in like the Speed EX14 fast charger. User-selectable voltage and current, with many charge and discharge function.

You'll have to DIY your own battery holder though. These chargers will also fry batteries if you're ambitious about charging time.

Another of my friend fried his batteries too with the rayovac charger , guess it isn't any isolated case...

Huh.. then why do people recommend it then? Damn if only the $18 one at Mustafa wasn't out of stock..

I have had no problems so far with the Rayovac batts as well as the charger ... the batts are no where near as good as the SANYO 1850s though ;p
