The best is use a 43-49mm step down ring... only a couple bucks from ebay.

At first i tried the Raynox 250 adapter, the spring seems way too strong for the 18-55mm front threads. i believe there is a risk of the front threads getting 'bent' in the long run. either use a 49mm filter to protect the lens, or use the 43-49mm step down ring for safety... just sharing my thoughts.
