Hi Jim. I am very interested in a Raynox DCR-250 macro lens to use with my Canon XH-A1 videocam (72mm lens), but I don't know what sort of adapter it would need to make it fit. Do you have a package for this? Thanks.

Hi Jim. I ordered a DCR-250 via your ebay link. I expect a 72-67mm step-down ring will work OK with this, but if you have a beetr suggestion please let me know. Thanks.

I realise there will be vignetting on the wide end of the zoom, but my friend is using one with a Sony Z1 and says it's no problem to avoid that in practice.

Hi Richard,

Many thanks for your order of DCR-250! Please PM me your contact number to fix appointment time.

We do have a 72-62 Raynox ring. It should work just fine or you should be able to get a 72-67ring from established shops.

Vignetting at the wide end is normal. It also happens with digital cameras. Since your Z1 friend said ok, all should be ok. :D

Perhaps you'd like to consider the DCR-5320PRO?

Definitely no vignetting problem. Slightly lower magnification at +5 (combined) but if your equipment has high power zooming, you should still get amazing results!

Cheers,
Jim, McGill.

Hi Jim. I'd certainly consider the 5320, it is 72mm so would fit directly on to my lens. And I can always pass the 250 to my wife for her still photography close-ups. But is there any way to try it out on my camera before committing? Would just like to check how close I can focus at the higher zoom levels.

Richard

Hi Richard,

Noted. You can test the DCR-5320PRO on your videocam first but will have to meet up at Bedok since this is no-obligation basis. Anyway you already ordered the DCR-250, so I have to meet you anyway. :bsmilie:

Hi Hommie,

Many thanks for your query!

This lens HDP-6000EX only comes with 72m thread, no 62mm thread. Price is $699nett. 100% metal body with built-in 117mm wide angle lens hood! So you need to get a Raynox 72-62 stepdown ring @$25 which is available from us.

We may want to get more pieces in end of this month depending on the response we've had.

Cheers,
Jim, McGill.

Compatibility of Panasonic AG - DVX Series with Raynox Lenses

Hi All Panasonic users,

Please note the following info:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Confirmation from Raynox factory in Japan)

We would like to inform you the test result for Panasonic camcorder.

Panasonic AG - DVX 100A and AG - DVX 100B can be compatible with HDP-6000EX
( 0.79x Wideangle conversion lens ).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Due to the special wide angle design of DVX, so far only this deluxe model @S$699nett is workable with DVX. Others will cause vignetting.

Thanks!

Jim, McGill.

Hi samvision,

I'm afraid not many Raynox lenses are suitable with the dvx at the moment. I already hinted to Raynox that Panasonic models are getting more popular in Asia Pacific region. Now the ball is in their court to produce something really attractive!

However the DCR-FE180PRO fisheye lens works great with many makes of videocams, especially with the Sony FX7 and V1 series.

For your record, a photographer with Lonely Planet Team got this lens recently. We tried the shots together with his V1 and images looked great even with zooming. ;)

Cheers,
Jim, McGill.

Hi Jim,

I'm interested to find out if the DCR-5320PRO is still in stock?

Tks

HI Jim, does this works with the dvx via a step down ring/adapter? If so, know of anywhere that I can try it? Do PM me regarding the cost of this fisheye yah. Thks. the 0.79 not wide enough for me though, looking at somewhere between 0.5-0.6.. more for landscape kinda stuff I wanna capture.

Hi kairospix,

The DCR-5320PRO is out of stock now. New stock should be in by next week. Please PM me if keen so I can reserve 1pc for you. May I know what videocam are you using?

Cheers,
Jim, McGill.

hi danel,

nope, nothing suitable yet BUT you can try stepping down to 67mm from 72mm AND use the XL5000PRO. May have vignetting though.

Yes, you can try this combination near to our Bedok warehouse. I suggest Befok KFC, which is quite near to the MRT Station.

cheers,
jim.
