The images are really amazing!
The guys at magic lantern have really outdone themselves. Didn't think that this would be even possible. But it seems that they are still at very preliminary stages, software is not even beta yet. No one knows how long the camera can hold out recording at that level and if it will lead to faster wearing out. But the images, boy oh boy....

Good for short Film or indie. Not for events, docu or wedding cause workflow is pretty tedious.

Don't think can preview the clip after shooting and cant record audio even if its released.

But I'm wondering if BMPCC can record raw in the future at usd$999, where does this come in?

I guess for us who need to get the real deal still have to go for c300.

Agree. The workflow is tedious and not to mention the amount of storage needed. But it will be excellent for features/short film.

I am wondering if the HDMI out port is still working when doing raw. Can record a version on ninja for review purposes since there is no way to review the raw files.

From the looks, its like 4mb per frame = 4x24 = 96mb/s

Recording 1 min = 5.76GB

If you do a typical solemnization of 15mins. You need to have have around 100GB of space ...

One evening wedding banquet will take up your typical 2TB Hard disk ...

Not to forget, you still need another similarly spaced hard disk for conversion of the raw files to DNG and then to PRORES for editing.

Thats like 4TB for one wedding banquet ($300?) ... Even more required for Events shooting ...

I heard the live view still works? so you should be able to pull the 4:2:0 8bit footage into your ninja i guess but that means even more files ...

If only we could have it work via somekind of CF => SSD. That will save you some money on the most expensive CF card in the world (1000x 128GB Sandisk).

I would rather get the C100 which looks way better than a 5D3 anytime. The sharpness might still win the 5D3 MagicLantern Raw due to the sensor (which is also used in C300 & C500) but lose maybe 1 stop on dynamic range.

But you will need $8k to splash (but if looking at a $4k 5D3, its not really that far away compare to those crazy prices of C300 or 1DC)

Ya, the storage is mind boggling and this is definitely not for everyone and everything.

I have been eyeing the C100 for some time now, am hoping to use it with a ninja2. And i agree with some of the web reviews that it is a truly underrated cam. There has been a price drop of $1000 for the C100 is US. But I don't think it applies to Singapore.
I wonder if the warranty is international?
