Another rangefinder user here!

Leica M6
Mamiya 7II
old Contax (actually don't know which model it is, it has a flip up metering rectangle that has stopped working- but still takes nice pictures with its equally old 50mm sonnar 1.5)

Hello there!

Great to see other rangefinder users here. I use Bessa R2 and Voigtlander lenses (35mm and 75mm), Really love the simplicity of rangefinder photography. Do feel free to take a look at a couple of my photos taken with Bessa R2 and Voigtlander lenses at www.rangefinderforum.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat:500&ppuser=132

Regards,
Peter

Good photography! You are a medic?

Thank you for your complement. I am a nurse. What do you do for a living? :)

The Contax you have sounds like a IIIa. You could check out www.cameraquest.com for the model of Contax that you have.

I am also in the healthcare service. I thought that to be able to take pictures like those in your portfolio, you must be pretty close to them!

I always believe great pictures are not only taken in physical proximity to the subject but there should also be 'emotional' proximity too. Otherwise the picture would be devoid of life.

Must shoot Wayang this year as last year's post SARS 7th Month was too busy for me to do the photo-shoot. As for the CV lenses, I only own the 35mm and 75mm CV lense. I sold my 50mm/2.5 and 50mm/3.5 last year. Infact I just sold my CV meter last week on RFF to Gene. I am streamlining all my equipment to what I need. I must not become a collector as it is highly addictive and my wife is already rather unhappy with my latest purchase of CV PII.

So you want to get a R instead of R2. IMHO, a bit more money for the R2 is really worth the money in terms of construction and durability. Furthermore, the M mount is much more easier to change lens. I use to own the L, which I sold after using only 6 months. But I love using the R2 as it is such a fun camera to use, not to mention produce good results too! I will probably never buy Leica as it will most likely sit in the dry box as it is too precious to be risked stolen, damaged etc.

Rangefinder members,
How about going out to shoot in the evening? Any rangefinder's camera will do.

Happy shooting.

Hello James,

I for one would like to join any group shoot. I see that the Voigtlander club is still around. Is this the same club organised by Anthony? Please include me in any future Voigtlander Club's activity.

Regards,
Peter
