Omg I jelly.![]()
last month i got the nikkor AIS 50mm f1.2 prime lens (manual focus) + tokina 80-200 f2.8 lens (gold ring version)
am currently eating grass till next week
LOL
hmmmm...the lens needs much more skill and getting used to than I thought...
DoF with f1.4 so thin, subject gets out-of-focus by a tiny movement...
The auto focus sometimes have a mind of it's own too...

btw, I read somewhere, if let's say you use f/1.4 at a far away object (e.g. 20m), the dof won't be so visible (as in most thing will be sharp in focus).. is that true?
Go calibrate.

haven't really tried that yet, but to what i know as based on hyperfocal distance with this lens on f1.4, the DoF is infinite at 42.46m
Edit: Ok, just confirmed.
DoF gets larger when the subject gets further.
Thanks for the test result....30 f/1.4 is one of the lens I'm eyeing on.....but have to choose one for now...17-50 vs 28-75 vs 30 f/1.4 sigh...will hold back till I know what I want.
the sigma 30mm is excellent if you need a fast lens to use in low light or indoor environment without flash, great bokeh-mon as well.
personally i chose to complete the focal ranges that i use before i reached for this sigma.
I've completed the focal ranges that I used....10-250...but using mainly in the wide end to abt 70-80mm mostly..which is why if I want a "fast" lens, it's a headache.
if only there's a 75mm f1.4 for you?
