What a mouthful...........................that's a Brachyplatystoma tigrinum, previously known as Merodontotus tigrinus. common name in sg is Tigrinus/tig. other common name include zebra shovelnose catfish.
Well, I guess not only fishes, insects, birds, plants & so on have scientific names. Good thing someone came up with common local names.that's the problem with all the scientific names. but some fish will share similar or same common names which confuses newbies.
But this is nice little fellaDon't think oscars are that fierce compared to some of my collections.
