Random shots of my collections

yes. tigrinus is a species of catfish. its common name is actually zebra shovelnose catfish. but here in sg its commonly known as tigrinus as per its previous sci name of Merodontotus tigrinus.

as for the tetra, its one of the species featured in river monsters:

they r not as bad as they look. the purpose of the fangs r to injured n maybe have a good grip of their prey. they swallow their prey whole. they dont chew off chunks of meat fr any bigger creatures.

That's an oversized tetra!

6 inch for the teeth! Man, I'll keep my fingers to myself...............:bsmilie:

there is many misconception about the characteristics of such "dangerous" looking fishes.

the same goes for pirahnas.

in fact, most of them r pretty safe. the owners just have to know what not to do n he/she will b very safe fr any injuries.

there r many ppl in other countries keeping them n r still very safe fr their pets. ;)

How big is the Hydrocynus goliath?

currently its only ~8-9".

in tank probably 2-3'. in the wild they can reach 5'.

its being dwarfed by most of the fish in the tank now. i had to move my 4 gars out as they were too aggressive towards it.
