It looks a bit funny, but it's not too bad once you get used to it.
At the bottom of the program window there is a box which says "DROP A VALID MULTIMEDIA FILE HERE - Will try to play or encode" above it. Use Windows Explorer and drag your MOV file into this box. That's your source file for the conversion.
At the top of the window, where it says "select the output container", you can choose what file type you want to convert to. Let's say mpg (MPEG I) as an example.
Where it says "Select the Output Video Codec", it will already have selected MPEG-I for you. Other file types such as AVI will have lots of codec choices available, but mpg (MPEG I) is obviously going to use the MPEG-I codec so bo pian for this example.
Where it says "Select the Output Audio Codec", you have the choice of mp2 and mp3. I suggest mp2 for compatibility reasons.
OK, all the above is pretty obvious, but there's no way to define where you want to save the converted file. The trick is to right-click on the program window, and suddenly a long menu list appears. Select "Output File Saving Management" and browse to the folder where you want to save the mpg file after conversion.
After that, just click on "Encode (Active Files)" and the conversion will start.
dude! ur so helpful! haha, after i posted, i figured it all out! thanks so much anyway! did some batch conversions, now im just looking for a good movie maker that can do...everything. lol!
