A new question
4) There is a "Hightlight" mode for me to check the lost details of the picture. So how can I resolve the issue (those blinking part)? Reducing the exposure compensation seems to be resolve the "problem" but the photo will look underexposed. :(

this is to let you know is there any part of the photo have blown off highlight.
sometime the camera unable to capture such wide range for certain set up, eg, shooting people under a tree with over cast sky in background, or shooting indoor but shows windows of the outside scene...etc
as long your subject is proper exposed, it is perfectly fine to leave some part of the photo highlight blown, especially when correcting it is not possible or practical.

Howdy all,

hope I'm not off topic by asking about the price? I went to check out the price for this D40 at MS color, selling at SGD990 for dual lens kit + 2 x 4GB, bag + cleaning kit. Is the price expensive? Does anybody know what was the price offered during IT fair last year? I am not in a hurry to buy esp. if IT fair in coming March would be attractive...

btw, is D40x available in Singapore? So far only seen D40 in advertisements...

Price is around $700 with kit lens, so $990 seems about right for dual lens kit...

Don't bother about IT fairs, they sell at RRP, much higher than what you can get outside and they just throw in a lot of freebies...

D40x has been replaced by D60... No longer in production...

can you share your experience like advantage and dis advantage in your D60. im planning to get this model also.

Hmm... I really like its size and weight, very compact and light for a dSLR. Same size as D40 and very slightly heavier. Easy to use and shoots great photos. Only disadvantage to me is the lack of a focusing motor so can't AF on the cheap and good AF-D lenses.

If you are comparing D40 and D60... Very similar. More pixels on the D60, but noisier high iso photos. Slower flash sync speed too. Sometimes I wish I had a D40 instead since 6MP will do just fine and I could do with less noisy high iso photos.

Anyway, don't OT in the thread... Search for D60, there are lots of threads on it... :)
