Hi all, just got a miniDV camera to capture my BB video. Have the below newbie questions, appreciate any brother's kind advice :

1) I have a canon MD120, when I capture the video, there was date and time captured, however, when I downloaded to the computer harddisk via firewire, using windows movie maker, I dun see the date and time stamp. Did I miss a step or do something wrong?

2)After I downloaded the video into my harddisk, it is in WMV format, how can I convert to a version that I can burn and view from a DVD player? Is there any free software that I can download?

3)For editing of the videos, is WIndows movie maker sufficient or I have to purchase or download some software?

Thanks.

1) Not sure about your time stamp.
2) Can use Nero or some others that allows u to convert and burn to DVD.
3) Win Movie Maker is good for simple edits but you can't convert and burn to DVD.

You can invest in editing softwares from Adobe, Sony, Ulead or Pinnacle to do a better job.
They cost from $100+ to $200. You can capture, edit and burn to DVD.

Cheers!
