Question on Mamiya RB67

i recently acquired an RB67, in the manual it says that the shutter is always cocked when removed from the lens. is this necessary?

what if i uncock it and then mount the lens uncocked. will there be any issues?

shutter is in the lens

yes, need to c0ck the lens shutter and the body (lower the mirror) to mount and dismount the lens, without cocking, you unable to dismount the lens from the body.

so if the lens is uncock and you mount the lens, is just get jam lor.

ooo thanks for the reply... so in this case, the easiest thing to do is to just leave the lens cocked after removing so that it remain cocked when you want to mount it again.
any detrimental effects of leaving the shutter cocked for long period of time?

Whoa! You got a RB67? Respect Is it very heavy? Anyhow, I think the cocking issue is not impt if you only have one lens, and leave it on most of the time. Or do you have many lenses to interchange during a shoot?

why you need to uncock the lens shutter?
being using RB67 for workhorse about twenty years, never uncock the lens shutter before.

actually i got two lenses. i think not that important too that the lens remain cocked. I guess i was just paranoid after reading the manual.....
