Question on lens purchase


Sorry for my obfuscated posting :). I think older (vintage) lenses mostly are built to last, so warranty may not be an issues. If it is good probably can last you for ages. Unlike the currently electronics gears I heard they are built to spoilt after a period of time. So warranty is not so important, imho.

Yes, I am quite surprised that some of the 1970s lenses that I have come across still look pretty good and work quite well.

True. Nowsaday most lenses exterior are built from plastics, unlike those in the past which is built from solid metal. Sadly they don't built lenses like they used to.
 

Not to flip, but wondering how much is a fair price to pay for a lens a friend is thinking of selling me.

one quick way is to do a search in ebay for completed deals & you get a fair idea how much one such lens with similar condition is going for... :bigeyes:

Yes, I have grown a little since then:bsmilie: But you remain the ultimate Si Fu..... (if only they have an icon showing me clasping both hands in humble ancient Chinese salute). :D
