I really need to find a place to sell my JVC Pro Camcorder in order to buy a good canon DSLR and lens for my new job. Please recommend me some shops which offer good price.

Thank you

You are unlikely to get a good price from a shop, because they need to make money when they sell it again. Only exception is if it is a trade-in deal where they have some margin on the new purchase to offer a better deal.

Sorry to say, if you need to sell a high end camera quickly in Singapore it is very tough because the market is so small. Also you need to consider that the price of the model you are selling has come down. Expandore are currently offering at $7K+, which even when you add in GST and warranty, it is a fair bit less than what you paid. So your expectations may also need to be adjusted.

Good luck, hope you get some good offers cos it is a nice cam.

Some of the shops like Expandore only offers consignment basis to sell off used equipment.
They won't pay you upfront for the camera.

And to make the situation a bit worse, unfortunately, your HD110U is a NTSC model in the SD mode and it will be very difficult to sell it off in this region. Moreover, the 110U camera doesn't allow Firewire or HDV input, and that because JVC is using the 720p format, it makes the footage incompatible with any other HDV series of product.

- Footage shot with the HD110U will not be able to playback in most other brands of HDV deck/vtr.
- Footage shot with any other camera will not be able to be played in the HD110U.
- When you buy the camera, you need to buy a JVC ProHD VTR so that you can record back to tape if necessary because the camera doesn't allow input via firewire.
- If your final video is to be mastered to DVD, then the Standard Definition function only supports NTSC frame rate.

I actually have use for this camera for 720p acquisition and my post production can support 720p, but given all the restrictions, it felt that there are more cons than pros for me to be making this investment.

As for the advice to sell your camera, I strongly suggest that you try eBay and target it to US or other international buyers who are operating in the NTSC region.

Thankz for your advice bro, I have thought about selling this baby on ebay but my friend told me there are a lot of insincere buyers from Africa on ebay. I think i can adjust the price by a little bit, just to make sure I'm able to afford a good DSLR and lens. I can't carry DSLRs like 400D and D70s for some serious event....
