maybe it's already builtin :dunno:

Good article but I would wish that he had taken a shot at 11mm and made a direct comparison between the FOVs of the 14mm and 11mm.

Thanks for the link.

Obviously you did not explore that site, here it is: http://www.biofos.com/esystem/1122test.html :)

As to why the 7-14mm and 11-22mm can give you such 'polarised' effects, I have read that it is something to do with the telecentric Fourthirds lens design, in which the light is more polarised after entering the lens and is directed to strike the image pane perpendicularly which certainly results in much greater edge to edge sharpness as compared with wide lenses designed for other mounts. This effect seems to be more exaggerated in both of these ultrawide lenses compared with the other Zuikos.

It is indeed peculiar but very nice that I can shoot the same scene at 14mm using both the 11-22mm and 14-54mm and the 11-22mm will always give me more contrasty and so called 'polarised' images.

seems like the Dark Side is with the 7-14mm... hard to resist!

The 7-14mm is the reason why I went with the E-system. You get the equivalent of 14mm in terms of 35mm format.

Anyone that has ever used the Nikon 15mm or the even better 15mm Zeiss Distagon(IMHO it is the best ultra wide ever made), you would realize that Olympus 7-14 is quite reasonably priced for it performance.

Adapters are well... adpaters and will never perform on par with a lens, even when compared to a Sigma.

All I can say from my expensive experiences, Ouch!, when it comes to wide angles lens, buy it cheap but it twice. Many times in the past, I should have just saved up a little longer and go for the best wide angle lens.

Still doesn't do it...looking for actual image comparisons between the 14mm and 11mm. Photographers are visual persons, and we need to SEE the difference.

Sharing some shots I stole from the office window this evening with the 11-22mm.

Shooting through the window had some polarizing effect I'm guessing.

don't think so, really. u just need a sky that is clear with white clouds (not overcast) to achieve blue effect.

Yup; I'm thinking that the window had some glare reducing surfacing based on the relative darkness of the foreground.

the 11-22 and 7-14 is supposed to have some polarizing effect too? maybe it all adds up. I was quite surprised to note that foreground was so dark when i loaded the pics up on the comp too.

Here's my 'blue' contribution. Taken with 14-54mm

I must admit to be very tempted by the 7-14mm, but my wallet will commit suicide...

Performance bonus and annual bonus coming... Buy Buy Buy! Don't forget the 35-100 too... both must get ok?

exactly what I was thinking! ;oP

but not both la... am thinking of the 7-14 or the 50-200.

Don't think to will need the 50-200. Now that you already got the 135-400. I am shelving the 50-200, unless there is a very good offer.

Blu, yea i know what you mean. I am quite happy with the kit lens as it is furthermore, now supplemented with the 135-400. May be looking out for good deals if people start unloading their old 50-200 for the new SWD version. Am more swayed by the 7-14 after testing it out!

7-14...aagggghhhhhh....more poison!!!!!!!!!:nono:
