Hi.....I know there are some Queen fans about......just surfing Sistic just now and saw that theres this concert based on the original Queen and Freedie Mercury and it seemed to get some really good reviews.......

I know its not the real Freddie but I think the stage and costumes and the singers all sound like its almost the real thing......anyone else going too?

although the name is different from the one in sydney (it's called we'll rock you), i guess this must be the same musical. they used queen's songs and string them into a story. not in the league of les miserables or cats...but it's  imagine a rock musical. would definitely recommend queen's fans to go watch.

Oh.... so its like "Mama Mia" where they used ABBA's songs to piece into a love story.
Think will be nice, something different, a rock concert/musical/play.;)

I think this was performed in Singapore before as I read the Singapore review in their website. Anyone seen it before? Do they really sound like the original Queen?

This is not We Will Rock You - it's a Queen tribute band if i am not mistaken.

What amuses me is the advert for them on Power 98, which uses a Brian May song in the background, not a Queen song! I know I'm being fussy, but that's too easy not to fix!

Brian May? you mean the one whos touring with the remaining members of Queen now? Cant quite remember his name...

Anyway...I think I am going...listening to Queen songs live can't be that bad even though its by another person...for the ticket prices I think its reasonable enough to enjoy a night out........

Brian May was Queen's lead guitarist (big hair!) and had a short solo career after Queen disbanded following the death of Freddie Mercury - his biggest hit was "Too Much Love Will Kill You" and that's the song being played on the advert.

Ok I remember that guy.......

i went to queen-we will rock you, and mama mia in london. queen was more elaborate set, quite good i'd say. mama mia wasn't as good. (mama mia came to sg b4?)

it depends on one's budget really, and whether after the show u'll think its worth the $ u spent etc... no musical will suck till u want to leave halfway etc...or are there?

This is not a musical - it is a tribute band. Different thing. They will just play Queen songs - no storyline, no acting.

So fast?
My date can't go with me cos its her bro's wedding over that weekend.......:bheart:

I saw the last show and really enjoyed it. They sound and look like Queen. Of course, not as good as the real thing, but seeing that now is impossible (and this is the next best thing).

The feeling is not gonna be the same even if they do perform it. Freddie's wail is quite unique in that song.
