Last but not least, all the lens creep and dust issues are easily forgotten once you see the IQ from this lens.

A point to note once the IS breaks down, it cost at least $230 to replace....
and i just did that....![]()
Let use know your experience.
I think there are not much choices for 7D body, i think this will be the best lens.
Only if you need the cash.Hi there, Actually i'm just a beginner.
Due to comments given by CSers, i'm so tempted and bought it.
D camera i'm holding onto is 500D kit II
Compare to 18-200mm lens that was issued with the body. This lens was heavy but its AF at nite is much sharper/faster than the 18-200mm.
Anyway, a side questions for u bros/sis out there.
Since i've the 17-55m and the default 18-200mm, should i be letting go of the latter?
Comments and suggestions are most welcome since i'm just a beginner. :dunno::bsmilie:
Thanks in advance.
Only if you need the cash.
I would keep both, 17-55 for indoors and 18-200 for outdoors.
Cookiestar,
.... Then i closed my eyes and got a 70-200mm F4 IS......
^^
But its more expensive to keep your 18-200mm in the cabinet
You can sell it for at least 750 bucks then Buy a 70-200mm F4L for 750 bucks too.
Or you can also get an EFS 10-22mm if you prefer ultra wide angle (its 900 bucks used, so you have to top up).
Or just sell it and keep the 750 bucks.
All if these are much better options than keeping it.![]()
the 18-200 can be a good solution for situations where u dun want to change lens, like walking about when u need a zoom. ie traveling

Cookiestar,
Just sell your 18-200 and get a used 70-200 F4 (no IS) for same money!! It's even sharper than the 17-55! You dun need IS if you are using it outdoors anyway.
You'd always wanna use your 17-55 2.8!!
trust me, your not going to touch that 18-200mm once you use you 17-55.
My first lens was an 18-200 on a 500d. then i got a 17-55. Sold off the 18-200m as soon as I saw the BIG difference in image quality. Then i closed my eyes and got a 70-200mm F4 IS.
A 17-55 2.8 and 70-200mm F4 is the sharpest zoom combo for a crop body.
Nuthing is better in terms of sharpness.
Yeah, but I'd rather have very top notch shots with my 17-55
Honestly, If you can only have 2 lenses, is there anyone here who would pick a 17-55 2.8 and 18-200mm combo over a 17-55 2.8 and 70-200mm F4 combo?![]()
yes. I would be one of them. I have all the lenses mentioned. I would bring out just the 17-55 and 18-200 instead of 70-200f4 becuase at times, you just want to bring "smaller package" especially when you want to be casual.
