yes, exactly! for me i quite prefer my pics to be as natural as it can be.. if i need anything more... i rather tweak it myself (but then, i seldom PS my pics... i seem to make it worse ;P)

HI anyone has his Dimage 7hi or 7i gallery to show off ?
need to take a look at the sample photos :)

eh finally bought an a1, been taking shots with it :)
The batt life is incredible took 250 shots + transfer of more than 512 mb of data still functioning :)

Show some pictures? I'm keen to see the poweress of the much reputed A1 :)

Took some macro shots... trying to play around with landscape

.....hope to see more pics...from your A1.....
on the part of battery...i almost forgot it ran on battery.... :bsmilie: :bsmilie:

rgds,
me

Actually 250+ on a A1 is not a particularly impressive feat, I remember doing some 300 on a 7hi with 1850mAh AA before, so certainly expecting more from the A1.

HI finally died after 300 + shots with tranferring of almost 1 gb of data :)

Anyone knows what type of wide angle lens is suitable for 7Hi? Thinking of getting one, but dun know if there is any lens of 49 mm thread?

you don't need to restrict to 49mm thread (there's probably only one in the world made for 49mm thread and it's discontinued long long ago). you could get a step-up ring and use other lenses

(maybe try the Olympus WCON07/08 to see if it would work without vignetting?).

Not sure about him with the A1, but my 300 shots with 7hi is with auto EVF mode. No way can get this figure in any other mode. Location is NZ.

I don't think using 49mm is a good idea, the lens on the 7HI vignetts very easily.
Try something bigger....... Even then I suspect there is a good chance of vignetting. There is a web site listing the different tcons tested with the 7/7i/7hi series, check it out (don't have the url handy)

Was really impressed by the sharpness of this camera :)
Esp setting to extra -fine .. one file size about 3 mb

If you read the manual, they recommend stepping up to 62mm. Perhaps you can try that. Let me know too as I'm thinking of getting a WA converter, just no time to shop for one.

hi solomon76,

was looking at the a1 and the s7000 as well...
what made you to decide on the a1 eventually huh?

may i know how much moolah  you cough up for it??

I think the waiting time is a killer ... anyway i think the a1 has superb anti-shake mechanism... believe me , at 1/10s , the object is clear.
Money ah...close to 2k with accessories such as 256 mb card and some filter :P

Actually i think i can take close to 350 shots... i put to auto mode.. of course.. i did a lot of looking , editing and re-transfering of data here and there. I also took shots with flash and used the anti-shake all the time... torturing the camera's batt :P

Sorry, auto as in auto switch between evf and lcd, or just between evf and everything off? If it is auto between evf and lcd that sounds very good, but if auto between evf and no display that is still quite ok considering what you are doing.
