Hi everyone,

I'm planning to buy a digital camera but within my budget. i was planning to get canon powershot A200. Any suggestions? I was wondering what is the price now?any shops selling at cheap prices? and is there anyshop selling printers to print the photos at a gd price? like XNU i320.. Can somebody give me some info on hte price of CAnon A200 n A40 and the printer.. thanks alot!!!

Nikko.

May we know what is your budget?

Oh yah.. haha forgot to state.. haha..

My budget is around $400.. a little more is alrite... Cos I'm now in attachment so my allowance is only about $400 a month..:(

I was hoping to get a digital cam n a printer for about $600...
And i would like to bring my digicam around everyday for taking pics n thought that Canon A200 is easier to carry around than the A40. OH yah! one more thing! i also need to get a charger and some NiMH batts... any suggestions?
Sorry to trouble u guys. i needed help in this!! thanks alot.. i was planning to get the printer tmr and the cam on Friday.. if possible then i'll get both tmr....

I've been doing my research for digicams these few days and found this WONDERFUL site... glad i found it...

N i finally came to a decision to buy either canon A200 or A40.. as for A40 i think that it is quite bulky isn't it? i put A40 as my options because of the optical Zoom.. What exactly is the biggest diff btween the 2 cam?

Nikko

If your budget allows, try to get the A40, where there is the optical zoom factor plus some limited manual functions which you can experiment.

Oh I forgot to mention, you may also need to have a tripod, additional memory cards, etc.

My opinion? Forget about the printer unless you need to print documents besides photos. Use the money to buy the camera and the accessories. The printer can come in later.

The above is only a suggestion.

P/S: You can go to www.dpreview.com to check the specs of A200 and A40.

Hope that helps.

I think the biggest difference is the optical zoom, and also some manual functions which you can try and experiment. :)

Oh, by the way, welcome to Clubsnap. :)

Thanks! but i need the price that is in the market now cos i only get the price from the net. it states $499 for A40 n i saw from other threads that it is selling at $440 in the market now.. Does AP really give a gd price?? AH.. can't decide which one.... cos i find the A40 quite bulky and i can't be put inside my shirt pocket.. and.. What about the charger n batts? The price should be about $440 in AP or CP. Why not get an equote from CP? www.cathayphoto.com.sg

True that the A40 is bigger than the A200. But the A200 is also considered to be bulky by others as well.

Do you want portability or zoom + manual functions? It's your choice to decide. ;)

Note that A40 can take some decent night shots as well. :)

THanks Alot man!!! I think i'll go to go to SLS to see which one I'm comfortable with.. thanks again!!! But sorry to ask aginan.. do u know where to get gd charger n batts?? hehehe...
