If you need to lie down on the muddy floor would you do it?
camera is not important, as camera is just a tool,
photo is not important, as photo is the finish product,
the motive and the process of creation of photos are the most important, as in the artist's perspective.

For those who stated camera is more important, can explain why? And also do indicate what type of photos you are taking, e.g. portrait, wedding, building, model shoot etc...
This would shed some lights on camera vs photo.![]()

depend on situation... but I always put more care and concern to my camera rather than photos unless its a life threatening shoot (like the PS2 game where you need to shoot to kill the zombie). if camera spoilt that means no more photos for me... because I am a poor man to replace it.
Don't bluff yourself.
Most of us take photos that are lousily taken, have absolutely no value to anyone else and of events that are not once in lifetime or earthshaking.
The camera is important. The photos are not.
You are not Nick Ut who was in the right place and the right time and (maybe) risked his life to take this important photo to tell the whole world of US violations against villagers and civilians in Vietnam War.
How can one be poor if one can afford a camera, more so a D700???:think::think:
