I was going to get one in Singapore but found that Australia was cheaper even after the currency exchange about 1200 by credit card somemore. Free 32gb class 10 also. If I bring it back to Singapore I can claim the 10% GST.

Got local warranty? Worth the hassle?

I am a singaporean stay in Australia. So It's ok for me. I think they do have international warranty. Anyway, I just want to prove that buying photography equipment in Singapore is no longer cheaper as compared to other countries which I was always thought so.

Canon does not have international warranty, be it for bodies or lenses.

Not really. Tourists from India and china who come Singapore to purchase stuff will get warranty back in their country.

I believe there should be a 6-months warranty for tourists, If I am not wrong.

Yes there is. I was quoting the guy who mentioned buying in Australia. I don't think canon will honour that warranty if one buys from Australia and wants to claim warranty here.

I could be wrong of course since I haven't bought any canon stuff overseas and had to claim any warranty here.

There is no warranty (even tourist warranty) for Australia.
