a jerry-can is 20L right? wa kauz, 4hr finish 20L. really power. 1hr 1L i already can die. :bsmilie:

too much water in our body can kill leh! those crazy ppl really like to tekan.:thumbsd:

those instructors from hell(they proudly wear their black RANGER T-shirt) that were involved in the incident of drowning the trainee, really deserved it. they are sadistic n totally crazy. KNN, they even laughed when they dunked not only my head into the pail of cold water n rinse n repeat for a few more times, but every trainees.

those higher ranked ones had the most jiaklat time. there's a regular captain during my course... n i think he really kena a lot of kicks n slaps, not to mention 'water treatment'.

they really shud be banished from S'pore n get their arses poked by porcupines. :thumbsd:

That fellow, my company mate drink and vomit continuously loh. It is usual to drink min of 2 litres 1 shot loh. Drink and vomit also. Theory from the instructor is that once u vomit means u have enough water. The worse is once our instructor was so mad with one sabo king and punish the whole grp by making us eat a lot and drink a lot, then do pushups. Wah lau eh, vomit out everything in front of us.

Yeah, the instructors were quite sadistic when during our 1st yr of commando trg but during our operational days, we can laugh abt it. We are not that complaint type and went thru all those nonsense like sleeping in toilet, stand by cupboard in parade square, change parade, fall in toothbrush, mess tin, etc, etc. Nearly went bonkers during those periods. However, can appreciate why the instructors did that. Go thru siong mission also can take it. Make us feel like real men. Imagine those trained by Israelites . Lesser pp fall out.

Our later companies did not go thru so much nonsense cause we had a big case in our batch. Since then, the juniors had a slightly better time but less tolerance also.

Realised that there is a lot of recce guys here. Brings back interesting memories....

The POW course was after my time (luckily) but the training was tough nonetheless...i remember that there was lots of injuries from bike accidents (lots of pple falling asleep while riding back to camp after exercise).

But i never hallucinate or was too shacked out....I was a TC and my team was only 3 person in a supposedly 4 man team....the most fun part is that you can tuang a lot during exercise w/o authorities, so pretty much anything goes.....Once play mahjong/shower in marsiling farm house.....

wa, u really classic.

but the bike part is real. we rode long distances(the road is long n totally uninteresting) in Australia during ex.wallaby n some of us were totally shacked out n jus blacked out for a moment, the next thing they know, they langa n buang.

my time, recce is already 4 man team n upon contact, we will go crazy n CHARGE!!! at the enemies. hehehe

every meal is freshly cooked combat rations with maggi mee. damn shiok. the outdoor taste of maggi mee is really different from eating at home. :)

one of the regular encik told us of this story when i was in the sad camp for POW training.

some recruit kena possessed for dunno what reason la.he has superhuman strength.

it took a no. of guys to subdue him, bring him down and finally an old regular encik moved in with the crest on the red beret n totally subdue the poor recruit.

makes for great bed time stories. :bsmilie:

Sounds so familiar. We had a case in my company. Happened in Tekong. That fellow suddenly shouted "Ranger! Ranger! Give me my red beret!" My encik gave him loh by putting it on his head and he fainted after that. That fellow wasn't even a ranger. That was during our basic ops.

oh.. years back i was supporting a POW session at night, i saw they made the trainees crawl to the seawater and then crawl back to do duck walk, there was a stinking stench from the POWs.. about 30-40 of them in wet uniform under cold night.... all marching in duck walk from one end to another end of the road... there were smoke grenades thrown around them.. and worse of all we were having hot coffee and night snacks right front of their swollen eyes ! my fren was cooking maggie mee and he cracked an egg into the mess tin in their full view !

i heard the pay is much higher. :bsmilie:

Some say the crest is blessed by the 4 major religions. But one thing for sure is that our instructor brought their beret with them even though they are wearing jungle hats. Seeing the trend, we also follow

u guys saw the parade square at Camp 1 ?

i had an CSM who told us that he witnessed a " NDP style " parade of Imperial Japanese Soldiers one night when he was the Guard Commander, the next day this CSM took MC for 3 days.

What about the statue of the warrant officer in lim chu kang which is said to move at night?

You mean the 4SIR camp which used to be 2nd guards? The Statue in front of the HQ block facing the field? I used to smoke and stare at that statue at night when i was on duty and damn bo liao...., hoping that it'll at least move it's eyeballs....sianz.....never moved an inch......

There was once i overnight in Tekong rubber plantation with my platoon. The next morning, one of my guys complained that these two indians very noisy and kept chatting the whole night. We all looked at him and i said :"Bro, there's no Indian in our platoon...."

He paused for while, looked at me and said :"F**k !"

this is a true story.

a group of commando trainees went for a hike at night, but they couldn't get out of the forest after making many rounds and checks.. finally they know something could be spiritually wrong with the place, so they stopped and individually prayed according to each faith, after that they managed to break free from that forest.

The Ranger course was opened to NSF long time ago...My crazy PC in BMT went for it in 1995.....

wa, sure or not

otherwise i surely join becos i want the $$ .

From sources,tekong.

Apparently, there will be a malay girl and granny in the bunk at the late of the night.
The girl will be bouncing her bball and counting.
source says that one of the mate in the bunk was not sleeping and saw the girl counting "1,2,3..."
When she pointed at the mate who wasn't asleep, she shounted, granny he's not sleep"
Suddenly, both the girl and her granny stood by his bed and stare at him.

i heard that no pork is allowed in some place of tekong island.
