Hey guys,

I've just inherited a Contax T3 from my uncle who gave it to me over the weekend.

Apart from getting over the excitement of the Carl Zeiss Lens, and the pretty good reviews I've read online, I was wondering if the wise ol' ones have anything to say about this one. :)

The ergonomics are nothing to write home about though, tiny dials, I pretty much assume that a photographer wasn't involved at all during the entire T3 design process!

You must be harbouring some negativities about the nasty old useless film camera! Have it shipped it to me, I will help free you of that burden. I promise you I will not charge you too much for the service. :bsmilie:

I think one inherits something from someone when that someone dies.
So if your uncle is alive, may be accurate to say he gave it to you.
Lucky bloke, T3 is a good cam.

How nice it would be to "inherit" a 2,000 sq metre bungalow or a lamboghini from some kind uncle. The rest of us just have to work for it and can never afford.

It's a great camera! If I recall correctly, it's even smaller that the Contax T2.

Cheers,

if you uncomfortable with it you can earn $$$ by selling it to me.

Don't listen to these guys Johnny, they know a good thing when the see one :)

Use it, cherish it and above all, keep it. Won't be nice to let your uncle find out you sold something he gave you. The T series are a well regarded range of cameras.

Hah Terence, I'll heed that advice, the good folks of clubsnap are a funny bunch it seems. :)

Justin has kindly recommended a few B&W film types and the basic EQ to start off with the negative developing. I can't wait to get started!

once you return with your prints, you will love this camera to bits.
enjoy your new toy!

just joking josh, i own one myself, and it a envy of my photography friends.

Just loaded my first roll of FP4 onto it. heh

I used the T3 up to the summit of Everest. I think a photographer was very much involved with the ergonomics.

though the dials are small, they can be preset and the button is really sensitive to touch.

cherish them and they will last you for years and years. not like digicams.

go ahead and quote me. I also used 2 nikon bodies, but the T3 was my main camera on more extreme conditions. In the link above, only the shot in the middle is shot with a slr; the rest with the T3. :)
Very nice 3rd shot! If I were you I'd develop it poster size and hang it in my room. hah

stefen have alot more shots of exhitibition quality!

look out for his Mount everest exhibition end of the yr :)

am on the lookout for a handy point-and-shoot, and the contax t3 seems to be getting rave reviews.

can someone recommend places to shop for a used t3, and the prices to pay. thanks!
