protecting yourself from "buaya" buyers

I didn't have the honor to meet this hero. My lady friend (cam's owner) went all the way to AMK to meet him, only to be told his folks were not supporting him on the purchase and he didn't have enough saving. He was very 'sincere' and determined on the purchase, he even offered his folks contact for my friend to verify. My friend rejected his offer but that's not the end of it, he continued smsing my friend even after the cam ws sold.

This is ridiculous leh....To feed the hobby of photography, also need a certain am of capital. Installments? Ask the bank/loan shark, which ever is nicer.
No money? Change hobby or save money, bit by bit. Did it the hard way man....

I've learnt a few pointers over the couple years:
1. Buyers should always travel to sellers. Sellers who insist u travel to his location, tend to be lowballers who drop price again when you reach ie, a busstop deep within NUS compound.
Example: I was told to go to a specific busstop within NUS compound by a buyer, who happened to be a foreign student in singapore. Upon reaching there, I had to wait for the 'celebrity' to take his time down, and then upon reaching, starts chimping for any marks whatsoever. I happened to have a brilliantly mint set with nothing for him to nitpick, so he started to nitpick in a raised voice that charger cable was 'not original' (you do know that it's common to have a least 3 sitting in the same corner at home with your cam batt charger, AA batt charger, etc.), and started making a call to some other individual in a foreign language. then telling me cable not 'original' (i still could never understand how it looks like) cannot. must deduct 50dollars. I told him straight no man. you want you buy. don't want, then don't waste my time. The bugger left.
2. As seller, If price isn't satisfactory, especially lowballers, don't reply. Lowballers scatter nets to hook deals at outrageously low prices. They don't care if you don't reply. Keen individuals who genuinely want the item will send more than 1 sms typically, trying to work out a deal.
3. Filter out resellers. I think they are hurting the eventual buyers' pockets and exploiting the sellers. Also tend to be quite annoying to deal with.

Recently i encountered the installment fellow.. i believe is the same guy... i ask him to sign or use cashline to pay me he can slowly pay installments to bank and he nv replied... kids nowasday..:bsmilie:
I met my fair share of idiots buyers and seller... met one smelly cheena buyer who just off from a badminton game and expect a brand new condition used lens.. :sweat:
Met one seller who organize mass buy in this forum for a filter.. guess why he ask his younger bro to meet me instead... you should have know the answer... Yes the filter have some deep scratches on them... :sticktong
