Problems with MH-C401FS from eastgear

Just bought a MH-C401FS 100 Minute Cool Charger + 4 x Sanyo 2100 AA batts yesterday. Got some questions :

1) When the charge was complete one of the cells keeps remaining at the "charging" status *red led* whereas the rest are already complete.

2) And its super hot, read from the manual when charging is complete it switches to "trickle" charge mode. Is it normal?

At this time, one of the cells is still charging, can I assume that its the charger is faulty? or battery? :dunno:

just switch off the charger, and switch it on again. presto! gao-tim liao!

Update : The last cell seems to be fully charged now. Which IMO is not very satisfactory since the other 3 took a much shorter time to finish. Is the charger or battery faulty?

Is trickle charging supposed to keep fully charged batts at a cooler state if I were to leave it inside as its extremely hot to the touch. And, how does discharging of batts work should the need arise. ;(

Just got mine recently from our Eastgear boys at Comex. Although it says rapid charge coolly under 100 min, it seems that the batteriies are really hot after during and after charging. Is this normal for you guys? My GP rapid charger doesn't seem to make the batteries as hot though.

Btw, I'm using it to charge the Sanyo 2100mAh Ni-MH batteries.

Not all batteries hold the same amount of charge, even for new ones, which therefore, some may take longer to fully charge since it might have been fully drained.

Note that the charger has four independently controlled channels to charge and monitor each battery individually. This allows each battery to be charged to its full potential without risk of overcharging.

I charged different set of Sanyo 2100mAh Ni-MH batteries that I own. The heat different. :think:

Yes, is trickle charging supposed to be so hot? Perhaps Eastgear/Bigbelly can give us a better explanation. :think:

I'd just bought the MH-C401FS and found that I'm experiencing prob 1 too.
May I know if the prob is still in existence?? Or did you changed the charger?

sounds more like that the specific battery is not charged to the same level as the rest.

don't worry. swap the batteries around. sometimes just switch off the charger for a couple of minutes, and try it out again. if constantly same "plug" for the battery got problem, then contact Eastgear again

So far 3 sets had the same prob...

I also have the same problem with a specific set of batteries, and I think it's not really on the charger, but on how the equipment uses up the batteries.

I'm using this set of 1850s on a transistor radio, and I get the same problem when charging, irregardless of whether it's a Maha or a Rayovac 1 hour charger.

What you can do is to mark the "weird' battery out, and when it's time to recharge, just put it in a different channel. If it's still the same problem, I think it's due to the equipment that you place the batteries in...

i just started using the maha charger with a new set of sanyos. i've also tried using a pair of sony rated 700mA that came with my discman. don't have the problems stated so far. maybe caused they're new?

I think it's Ok...
Tried 2 more sets of batts, but no prob....
Maybe I should go and buy 4D, so "lucky" 3 sets of batts had the same prob.
