i put 9 passport photo in one 4R image and all the shop that i visit quote me $9 instead of 50 cents because they say i have multiple images in one image.
Is it always like that? Any shop charge lower price?

Its daylight robbery....no business ethic, where are those labs?...blacklist and boycott them!

That's their business, times have changed and they have to adapt along with it.

By artificially creating a "demand" for what is obviously outdated/outmoded products is unjustifiable. Anyway they just kill themselves there will remain labs who will print without such surcharges.

Well from our point of view its unreasonable no doubt
but try looking from their commercial point of view, in the good old film days without digital cameras/DSLR or compacts, no DI, they made a good living from $6 for 4 passport pics, developing our negatives etc.. nowadays with digital, folks print less often, competition has risen so some offering 4R prints at like 18cents each, professionals having other options like their own printer etc.. They are really pretty desperate safeguarding their rice bowl. I wouldnt want to reach a stage that photolab become rare, because when that happens, price will start going up again. :)

BTW i also print 8 passport pics at 50cents;)

i always develop my misc potos at Parkway shopping centre basement Fujifilm which charges ard 20ct per pcs if more than 100 pcs...but seems like they are not using the true 4R and slightly inferior ink... :dunno:

Just for some of us who dont know, but I am sure many knew already...

And that is if you submit your passport application through the internet, it costs S$50 and you can just attach a jpeg 514H x 400W of the applicant. No need printed photos.

I just did it the other day and all went well.

cheerios
.

You are right, I think if everybody going to behave like this. Very likely, more shop are going to close down then PRICE will start to go up.

do a search bro, many ways to do it, infact its simply cut/paste n getting dimensions right, dont really need CS2.

I use CS2 before print passport pics to remove blemishes:)

Hi People,

Could someone guide one how to crop the photo I have taken into a passport size photo. If I print the photo in 3R and 4R I would get different sizes of "passport-sized" photos won't I?

Thanks,
Kelvin

Printed my 4R photo containing 8 passport-sized photo at Grace Digital lab - only $0.30 per copy. Simon the boss even helped me to adjust the skin tone of the photo

Do you use photoshop? If u do u can download this zip file and install the actions - one of them is to automatically allign/collate your photo into passport size for print at 4R.
