Hi all readers

here's my 1st posting and i would like to share my New Photo Journey. as i am a noobies so do feel to comment and give tips on how to shoot how would you compose the image. i would like to learn more from everyone point of view so that i can find my our style over the time ^^,

31 Dec 2011 - The last day on Year 2011 but is my 1st day of using a DSLR

Date: 31 Dec 2011 / Place: Bugis Village / Cam: Nikon D3100 / Photo Comment: to have the feel of the moment, i try to have my background to be more blur out but seem like its still not that blur.

1st pic is an interesting street scene... to blur the background you would need to shoot at a larger aperture with a longer focal length lens. shooting at 48mm (72mm at 35mm equivalent) and f5.6 using your kit lens would be a challenge to achieve blurred backgrounds. what you could do in this instance is to go as close as possible and shoot at 18mm at f3.5, while choosing an angle that minimizes background clutter.
