Prices of equipment in Australia

Hi guys, just to ask does anyone know whether purchasing camera equipment in Australia will be cheaper as compared to Singapore as i think i may go to Australia to study or ask a friend there to buy it back.

Trust me, toga gear is very expensive here (Sydney, Australia). In SEA, one can haggle to an extent and competition is high between sellers. Here ... its ... isolated ... *cue cricket sounds*

You just have to do your own homework to find out.

not quite, I find it cheaper actually coz of bigger volume for imports. I bought my sigma 10-20 there + tax reduction

my frens stays in melbourne, he compared the AU price with SG price and find that AU is more ex

Its about the same in the end, having lived in Melbourne the past 7 years have found some things back home are cheaper, where as some thing are more expensive , will defiantly miss the camera culture that singapore has here, compared to back in Oz

warranty is local...but even then u can bring back your camera back for svc or repair when u r back in SG or even so, check with the aussie office how much is it going to cost to repair it...I know a guy from Australia who says he want to go to John3:16 to get his stuff because he save nearly 1K off which he can used to buy his wife a ticket to join him..
