I just got the Extreme III 4Gb yesterday from Harvey Norman.
Comes with the Capture One software. Kinda difficult to use.

The letters are in silver-Holo type (something like Ultra II) and not gold letters.
Takes a longer time to format as compared to my Lexar 133X Pro.
Going to test out the write speed later.

good price indeed...i have switch from ultraII to elite pro recently bcos the elite pro has faster write speed to my E500 than ultraII tho not alot but the selling price here make a diff...

I bought from buy.com. My friend told me that BestBuy had a good deal for 2GB Extreme III as well, think about 70SGD as well.

Using the same Extreme USB cardreader... trying to compare my Extreme III card to Lexar 133x. Anyone?

Based on a 10 Mb file:

I feel that the write speed is slightly faster than the Ultra II but seems to be slower than the Lexar 133x.
It's a qualitive measurement, I cannot be sure just based on that.

Have a try on HDtune . My Ultra II 1gb has a 4.3mb /sec Max transfer rate while my Extreme III 4gb only got 4.4mb /sec max .

I did another try using a Sandisk 512mb SD and the max rate is 8.3mb, higher than both my CF cards. Doesn't seems right to me. Any others willing to try the prog?

Your bottleneck may be the card reader.

To ensure an accurate test, i would suggest using the Sandisk Extreme card readers.
