Not true that prices have gone up for all Canon products .......... Taiwan selling 50D at USD1045/- with free shipping to Singapore ............. ;p

Maybe you can share the link? I think if shipped in also will get taxed. So it will all be back to square 1.

It seems that Canon is holding on to the price increase.

Hmm, heard some 3rd party lens already increase, like Sigma. Salesperson in Cathay said that.
In Malaysia, the same 'news' keep on spreading.

Price for Sigma already increased in M'sia, heard from someone...

They should reduce price to encourage more people buying instead

maybe the demand now greater than the supply. if the supply low then the price will go up lor.

hope my fisheye nvr increase though...

The difference between the exchange rates made it very hard to reduce price though. Many good years ahead.

No wonder their economy shrank by 12%. Print more money please.

LOL! Due to strong Yen, now they have too much money stagnant. They need to get rid of it. :bsmilie:

Agree, doubt they will let the price increase. The market is bad as it is.
Kamikaze no, but if sales dropped tremendously someone will have to conduct hari kiri.

This kinda hum cheng still increase price? Jap government wanna commit kamikaze ah? They're sure to control the JPY increase soon. So i'm not worried about shops scaring us to buying. Rather NOT buy and wait for the yen to come down- matter of time. No such thing as prices going up when everywhere price come down- minister pay also kena cut...

Price of some Canon lens has been revised (increase...). Got quote from Cathay...

Please share the ones that you know...

Hope the Canon 300mm f2.8 lens that I want to get for my sports photography will never increase the price until i get it......... :sweatsm:

5D Mk2 from KL... RMB 8500 at One Utama, cash price... converted it's abt S$3.5K.

So far, Canon has not increased the prices. Heard that it would somewhere in March if the rumour is true.

Let keep our fingers crossed.

Nikon on the other hand has already increased the prices. Some lenses cost more than $500 now. :what:

I was at CP-M yesterday, bought a 55-250mm len. was told Canon lens price will go up a bit in 1-2 weeks time. He did not say by how many % or how much though.

Just got back from CP... prices are all up.

They are revising the prices as of today. On avg, the increase is between 10-20%. Just yesterday evening 24-105 was quoted at ~1560. Now, its around 1800.

Guess all the 2nd hand prices are gonna be revised upwards.

You might still get lucky at getting some lens lesser than the new prices on new 'old' stock, if you are a preferred customer. Or else, just be prepared to fork out the money.
