Pricing the 40D below $2,000 is not a surprise to me, and I believe that it will fall slightly after a period of time.

The new low price of 40D, earlier canon (10D,20D,30D) dslr price also drop a lot. Not really sure if it is a good thing for us.

High price is good, isn't it? Nikon's products have higher resale values comparing to Canon, like lelong.....

I don't think that you will see 5D goes below $3,000 in Singapore. By the time the replacement is announced, 5d would have been discontinued, just like the 1-series. Dealers will return all unsold 5ds back to Canon.

How I wish I could ask someone from HK to buy for me, but none of them I know of knows about checking the cameras...
