Hi
I am using Premiere 6.5 to make slide show from photographs.

I use the motion function and zoom in the vertical shots to fill the frame.
Thats about 200% , ie half of the original pic.

On photoshop, it looks like a lot more to zoom in without jaggies
but when i do it with the premiere6.5, there's too much jaggies

What should i do to keep it useable ???

You can use "image pan" for this.

could you elaborate ?
which section is "image pan " and how does it
prevent the jaggies?

thanks

It is in the video effects, under distort if IIRC.
Premiere 6.5 resize your photo to fit the screen size. If you zoom in, it will pixilate thus the "jaggies". New version of Premiere do not have this problem (I think... ). Image pan will help make full use of the resolution. (Note: Your photo has to be high res in the first place...)

Hey Snap snap

YOu are a life-saver
I was pulling my hair out on this problem
PM me your mobile, coffee on me

another question, how do you apply video effects/ reduce interlace flinker to ALL ?

thanks very much

Glad that I can help.

There must be many ways of applying video effect to all the clips... What I will do is this:
- Complete my editing
- Select everthing as a "virtual clip"
- Apply the video to the "virtual clip"

Note: I have not tried to do this before... you can find the function at the timeline window, top left hand corner, 2nd box, IIRC.

Hey SnapSnap

I got another question.

How do you get Premier6.5 to accept jpeg files?
right now , i need to convert to psd files or even .tiff

just seems odd that it doesnt accept jpeg

Premier 6.5 accepts jpeg files. I do not have to do anything special to my jpeg files.

i go to file/ import / files

but the "all media format " doesnt include jpg
Even when i point it to folder with all jpg, it shows nothing
hence i couldnt import them........

is there anyway to bring files to bin ?

Just go to the bin area, right click, then, IIRC, import files... You should be able to browse and find your jpeg.

i also found out that if you change the framerate down to 23 or 25 the flicker will go away

JUst in case someone here wish to know that :))
