Not true, the minolta 100mm macro is as good, and it goes down to 1:1

Actually, each brand will have their own supporters and detractors. Even pentax lenses are damn good as well. Before I bought my minolta, my dream camera was a Pentax LX....

Sure .... if $$ is not a problem, ask that pro to get the "G" Lens series .... the quality will not be anywhere inferior to N or C (Any C, may it be Ca or Co). AF Speed, I am quite sure I can compare D7 AF Speed with C and N. Picture Quality largely depending on the lens, and JFI, no other Macro lens come close to Minolta 50mm f/2.8 Marco

Does anyone own/used the AF 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5(D)? Any comments in terms of focus speed, optics etc?

About the VC-7, are you guys trying to say that it's not sold in retail outlets here? Meaning we need to make a special order for it?

I'm trying to find a 2nd hand D7 in good condition. If anyone of u has any lobang, pls let me know!

The last lobang a couple of week back is that there is one VC-7....in KONOTA peninsula.....Its at the top shelf....my eyes were surveying while chatting with Nelson....

AF speed is good compare to other zoom of about the same range. For Minolta camera AF varies from bodies, same lens mount on my 505 and D7 perform differently.

In term of optics, at widest zoom (24-??), will see slight vignetting and obvious vignetting when filter or adapter attached. Slight distortion at both end of zoom range. Generally, I think good result can be produce when 1-2 stop down the aperture and avoid the both end of zoom range. (as usual for zoom lenses )
