I ordered a Stetige tripod from www.perfectpixelcameraparts.com on 29 January 2008. It was delivered quickly, just one or two days later.

However, the unit that I started using broke down after a few days of use. When I pulled open the legs, one of the legs' locking bracket broke apart and became loose. As a result, this leg was unable to open to the fixed position anymore.

I started contact the store on 9 February 2008 to ask for a replacement unit. Jeremy Tan from the store confirmed that once the Chinese New Year period was over and new stock arrived, he would deliver the replacement.

On 19 February 2008, I wrote to orders@perfectpixelcameraparts.com and info@perfectpixelcameraparts.com to request for an update since I had not heard from them since early February. Jeremy said he would contact me again within a week.

Up till 7 March 2008, I have not heard from Jeremy anymore. It has been more than a month since I last used the tripod and I have not been able to get a replacement unit.

I seriously do not recommend PCCP Online as a retail merchant because:

1. contacting and communicating with them is difficult
2. do not honor dates
3. poor order fulfillment and defects replacement

Nat and Jeremy Tan from www.perfectpixelcameraparts.com are not retail people that you want to spend your money on. They are unreliable and slow. Do not buy anything from their store unless you want to suffer high risk of customer dissatisfaction when your order breaks.

Bear in mind, I still have faith in the quality of the product, but it is the utter failure of customer service that the store shows.

Save time and money and avoid buying anything from PPCP Online, www.perfectpixelcameraparts.com.

Think there is another such incident reported by someone some time back.

Well, if poor service continues, any stores will probably do badly eventually.

Pls give them some time for it is now the IT Show.

..IT show started in Feb?

i have dealt with a number of times so i guess it is only fair to share my relatively positive experience

they have been quite reasonable, admittedly sometimes a little slow at replying, but it eventually gets done and settled

give and take, this form of business is not quite run the same way a real store with a proper front is..

slow yes, unreliable, frankly, no. have a little faith unless it is sorely betrayed. do unto others what you would do unto yourself. :) cheers!

I also noticed from some of the threads that they do not reply or respond to queries.

Even when they just started out, they could even got the wrong eyecups delivered and causes scatches to my cam, ask for exchange and still have to pay for the postage!! They don't even have simple product knowledge.

Whether you are running a shop front or internet sales, that is not or NEVER an excuse for slow, bad service.:sticktong

Thanks for the info on thread. Will take note of this company when we want to buy things.

hmm well I bot a small flash accessory can't rem which before. what I found silly was that cos they were based in jurong which is nearby. i offered to come down to pick the small item which costs <$10 they were offering free postage (but there's no free lunch mah) I asked if i can have the postage amt deducted from it. they say postage is free. so they can't deduct. Since i wasn't needing it urgently I tot ok then jus mail it to me.
naturally when i got the package I saw a stamp on it and cos I opted for normal packaging the plastic casing that it came with was cracked. the item was fine though cos of sponge lining in the casing.

summary of my long story,
1) they abit inflexible.

Oh but they did reply my questions promptly and delivery was pretty fast. but that was quite a while ago perhaps business picked up and they got swamped.

ok, will NEVER　ＥＶＥＲ　ｂｕｙ　ｆｒｏｍ　ｔｈｅｍ　ａｇａｉｎ．　;)

haha no nid liek that lah .. get them to upgrade their service can already.

I too have an unpleasant experience with PPCP, the order was made(Oct07) but item went out of stock.....next, the delivery take ages(jan08), there was no effective communication channel(through email mainly)....at the end ask for refund for some unavailable item but it came in as paypal, so I have to go through hell procedures just to get the account setup....up till today...I am still yet to see my money.....so for this kind of effort, it really not justify the savings :dunno:

But to be fair, Nat and Jeremy are quite nice guy and I can tell that they were struggling to make out whatever shortfall that they had.....Being criticised in a forum like this can potentially destroy all the reputations that they made so far, so the team should look at the root of the problem, reengineered the business system to restore customer confidence....as for me, I don't foresee I will do any more business with them in coming future

well, hope that is some major change in the quality of service... im still waiting for my ballhead since 3weeks back :embrass:. Tot will be able to get it fast since the website stated that it is instock, but was told they still need to ship in from hk

They got many satisfied customers and many dis-satisfied ones too ..... I hope PPCP can quickly respond to the TS and salvage their reputation.

This is another online shop to beware. Ordered a giottos blower and lenspen pack from them in early December 2007. They did inform me that the lenspen pack was out of stock, and i was told the new stock would be coming in 2 weeks time. So i waited for another 2 weeks, still the same answer. They kept telling me that they will inform me when the stock is in but no answer till now. And, no refund too.

And, they informed me that they sent out the giottos blower to me but i didnt receive.

Till date, i did not receive both items and i did not receive the refund. I sent various emails to them but no reply so far.

Anyone has gotten any bad experience with this particular online shop too?

since they claim they are a registered company, why don't you try to refer to CASE

In order to lodge a complaint to CASE, you'll need to pay $25 per annum to be their member. Ultimately, it might not be worth it since the refund amount that i am seeking is below $100.

been wanting to order, but never got down to getting to it. :)
