PowerShot S90! users.. Come In!!

Auto White balance better then 40D and exposure spot-on most of the time. Better than 31fd. IMO noise reduction looks more natural the LX3 in reviews. The problem with 31fd and LX3 is that they reduced noise by some sort of "patching" or "cut and paste" to cover the noises. S90 tends to blur away uniformly at high ISO but leaves edges intact.

That's my personal impression with no scientific evidence. All based on observations.

But just remember it can never be better than a xxxxD, xxxD or xxD. But almost matches a DSLR.

Hi!

Im considering buying s90. any ideas hows the photo quality and sharpness for indoor shots under artificial lighting??

thanks lots!:)

Yeah! Love it too!

But i really need to get the Richard Grip soon, anyone interested in getting it with me?

Hi newbie of canon s90 here. I Eagerly
wish to too, count me in. PM me for further liaison over this. Thanks yea.

One query - will it still be snug into the pouch after mounting onto?? Thanks:))

Yea bro, is it genuine from canon? Or just... :))

saw the case from my friend. this is NOT a leather case. it's a pvc case. build quality is so-so. don't expect leica high-grade finishing.
can be bought cheaper on ebay. yup.

i'm kinda decided on getting the grip for the s90...

anyone starting an MO on it?

hi everyone... i just got myself a s90 few weeks back, luv it much!

got it at MS for sgd 660 and comes with only a 8GB and a IXUS case (disappointed canon is selling the s90 case separately :( ).
MS also provides the screen protector film which i know other shops may not have.

i compared it recently with a sx210 in terms of low light shooting (even at Auto mode), s90 wins hands down!

hi s90 users, did anyone notice if you half-press the shutter release button when you are in an office environment with loads of florescent tube lights, would your s90 screen flicker?? suspect its the refresh rate of the screen and just needed assurance from gurus here that this is normal.

film this using my iphone, here's what i mean:

I think it's the flickering rate of the flourescent tubes.. been discussed before..

but i don't think it affects the photo..

Hi

IMO, even at ISO100 we can see more noise on the G7 as compared to S90.

G7 vs S90 @ iso100 (not much of a diff)

G7:

ok ppl, i've contacted the person selling the grip and he's informed me he can ship up to 5 grips in one go (shipping charges USD$6).

converted to SGD it's probably around S$50 each. Need one more person to be interested!

Will be ordering latest thursday afternoon because his next shipping schedule is on friday.

first come first served!;)

i do.. but i've heard some saying to keep check with the humidity levels.. because of the LCD screen.. Too dry the LCD screen will "dry up" or something like that.. between 40-50% shud be optimum...

pros, please correct me if i'm wrong! :D

@@ need to be so meticulous in storing the camera?? Haha I Normally don bother by this too much and just let it hibernates just inside my room away from direct sunlight.. Just my 2 cents. Haha.. Of course good habit/practice will definitely prolong the camera itself. Wish to learn More of taking good care of our babey s90 from experts like you all:)
